Tom Dunne – Three Months
The return of Luna Records as Tom Dunne delivers his latest single ‘Three Months’, backed by remixes from Denney and label boss Paul Bowen.
Originally founded in 2008, UK imprint Luna Records boasts a back catalogue featuring some of the most respected names within house and minimal, whilst also showcasing exciting talents from within the scene.
Helmed by label founder Paul Bowen, the label has released material from the likes of Cabaret Recordings head So Inagawa, Parisian favourite DJ W!ld, Moon Harbour boss Matthias Tanzmann and Mountain People member Rozzo across its releases to date, and following a brief hiatus, the imprint is back to celebrate 10 years with a series releases via both digital and vinyl across the coming months – the first courtesy of emerging London-based talent Tom Dunne as he delivers ‘Three Months’ with remixes from North-East heavyweight Denney (Hot Creations / Crosstown Rebels)and label boss Bowen himself.
‘Three Months’ opens the EP with authority as Dunne combines bubbling acid lines with skipping hats and rumbling sub-bass, before handing over to the label boss who strips back proceedings to lay the focus on chunky bass hits, wandering synth lines and slick metallic drum licks.
Last up, Denney’s interpretation welcomes the introduction of rolling organic percussion arrangements whilst harnessing the original’s echoed vocal hooks and acid-tinged lead line to reveal an up front, peak time production to close the package.
