Still enjoying the successes of the recent singles from Dan Drastic and Chris Lattner, the recently formed Luna Records label ploughs ahead with its releases schedule of quality electronic music backed with remixes from some of the best underground producers around.
So Inagawa has been producing for the last six years recording for labels such as Minimood & Multi Vitamins, he is also one part of the production team ‘The Suffragettes’ and when not in the studio runs Nagoya’s top techno night ‘Cabaret’.
This package kicks off with the original version of ‘Sputnik’, a deep and rollin slice of tech infused house that draws on simple percussion lines and a deep monotone bassline to great effect. This is a great piece of groove based house from the young Japanese producer, a straightforward Dj tool that is bound to find its place in DJ boxes around the globe.
First of the remixes comes from Hypercolor label boss Alex Jones who turns in a solid and chunky house cut with the addition of a soaring diva vocal that gives this track another dimension. With a deep, almost US house feel this is certain to be massive wherever it is dropped.
Next up we have a mix from Hector who takes time out from his recording commitments with Mobilee and 8Bit to deliver this superb reworking. Upbeat and bass driven this is a perfect party cut and a great compliment to the other mixes.
Finally we have a digital exclusive in the form of a dub of the Alex Jones mix.
Luna Records are rapidly rising up the ranks with their quality original material and stunning remixes and with only 3 releases under their belt there is much to look forward to.
So Inagawa’s ‘Sputnik’ is released on Luna Records in May 2010
